"had it out to check things out today, and noticed black oilly stuff comming out of the lower unit. Is this normal? Got back to the garage and tilted the motor down (expecting at least one more freeze) and water drained out and more black oil stuff. Any ideas? thanx in advance

Trouble or normal?Have the gearcase pressure tested if you are worried about bad seals.

the color and quantity raised my concern. (about an ounce if I had to guess over the course of the day (30ml)) I'll watch for changes when out next and have it tested if it worsens. thanks for that LM
