"I recently rebuilt my engine

"I recently rebuilt my engine and had the carburator professionally rebuilt and dyno'ed. I've been having a problem with soot appearing in my exhaust and I'm wondering if I have the correct spark plugs for my application. I have the electronic ignition package in a Prestolite distributor. I'm currently using champion RV15YC4's but, I'm wondering if these plugs are not hot enough to adequately burn the fuel/air mix. Am I wrong in thinking that maybe these plugs are made for the points/condensor setup and not for the electronic ignition or do I have another issue?

"Apparantly you are running too rich. Plugs should not have that effect. Heat range of plugs has nothing to do with changing the combustion temperature in cylinders.

Check choke operation, choke pulloffs, and that the backfire flame arrestor is clean and not clogged"
