I have a 1986 evinrude 8hp mod

I have a 1986 evinrude 8hp model CE8RCDE and there is a decal beside the fuel intake that reads 100:1. I have read somewhere that evinrude went away from this and changed it to 50:1 for this motor. Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks

Quite simply put at 100:1 your motor will run but not for long.Mix it at 50;1 and sleep better at night. You must wonder why so many motors from the 50's are still running strong and they ran at 25:1 so 100: is NOT ENOUGH OIL to protect expensive parts!!!
