Gear Case Lube for Volvo

I am a little confused about w

I am a little confused about which lube is best for the lower unit (gear case.) Manual says Dura Plus GL5 synthetic but I have been hearing that 10w-30 or 40 is the best for it. I am a clumsy mechanic so I also want to confirm that I am talking about the oil that goes in the foot of the outdrive. Thanks for any and all help!!

"Older VP outdrive models (250, 270, 275, 280, 290) were run on engine oil, but newer models (DPs, SX, etc) require gear oil. Use only the oil that your manual tells you to use and you will never be wrong.
