"could someone please explain wheir the water circulates on a 33hp seahorse johnson?i installed new impeller,andi run the engine for a few minutes in water and the top of engine gets hot and i do not see any water ,pissing,does the water come out the exhaust?because i see two exhausts on the back.i really want to ride in boat ,however my fear i could lock the motor up if it is not working ok,i need a answer,richard"

"If no water coming, providing You run in barrel and NOT adapter, there are several possibilities:
1: You missed the key at drive shaft for the impeller.
2: You missed the water pipe when installing gear housing.
3: blown head gasket
4: Exhaust leaks into impeller housing.
And probably some more.
Take down the housing again and double check!
If You did the test with adapter (muff), take down and check the impeller, buy/borrow a barrel and test again. Water must be ABOVE water pump!"

Water will come out with exhau

Water will come out with exhaust on the relief holes on the leg.
Put Your hand on top of the cylinder. Should be 'barely' to touch.
