"I have a 1975 115 Johnson. The manual also lists a 135.
What makes the difference between the two?
My 18' tri hull does 40. What might it do if it had the 135?
I see many mentions on this site and other about the 115, but never have seen a mention of the 135. Was it some sort of dark horse that the dealer didn't push, or was it so bad that none have survived?"

There were lots built.If you look on the BRP website you will see the different parts.They had the refined " bubble back " exhaust and bigger carburetors.Filler blocks on the intake too I believe.

Worth doing ?????? About the only way is to find a donor motor for the parts.Carburetors / filler blocks / heads / exhaust manifold / cylinder block etc.Lower unit had a different gear ratio. Plus lots of time to tear the motor apart. You decide.
