"We took our new/used boat out today, its a mercury 2005 50 horse with less than 50 hours on it. We noticed that it does not smoke when we run it. It is a 2 stroke, so is this normal? It runs perfect, but scary to me because she does not smoke.Thanks for your help..."
 
May not be to much smoke. You

May not be to much smoke. You should smell the 2 stroke roasting and that is about it. 125HP did not either. Some were not smoke buckets.

"if you don't think it's oiling, mark the oil tank, and run 50/1 mix. see if the level drops.
it's probably fine, if it was getting no oil it would sieze up pretty quickly."
