You might be able to help me with a problem.
I have the sterndrive off the boat after an incident at the boatramp, I replaced the drive coupling uni's, had the slip joint seal surface resleeved, fitted a new coupling bearing,set the shims up, and it seems to be spot on.
When I rotate the coupling in neutral, all is smooth and good, click it into reverse, all smooth and quiet and the propshaft turns as it should, but when I select forward, the crown wheels start to turn,but then, nothing, like it's still in neutral. I havn't had the gearbox apart yet, it's like some shear pin or engageing mechanism doe's not work. Can anyone shed some light on this, is this a difficult repair,and what part/s should I need to chase?
