I have a 1986 AQ131A 4 Cyl 275

I have a 1986 AQ131A 4 Cyl 275 outdrive. I have changed the thermostat and impeller recently.
Now it seems to over heat quickly and I blew two exhaust hoses. Never had a problem before. Could the water pump be bad? The boat sat for a year and a half. Could something be blocking the exhaust? TIA

"Check the hose connector in the outdrive, it is probably corroded and perforated. It is a very common problem, and it has been discussed many times on this forum. See the following links as an example.

"I removed the hose connector

"I removed the hose connector and it wasn't that bad. No blockage, I will replace it though and the hose while it's off. I did notice some chunks of metal in the exhaust bellows. I removed the exhaust manifold and it is coming from there. I will order another one. Is there anything else I should look for that would build up enough pressure to blow the exhaust hose? It happened very quickly.
