I have just purchased a p

Hi
I have just purchased a pontoon Boat with a 1997 90hp Force. On the back side of the lower unit there is a 90 degree fiting screwed in with a short plastic tube conected to it. (about 6 inches long) It looks like it is pluged with some kind of plug. What is this tube for it does not show up on the repair manuel. Is it for a speedometer to connect to?}
