Japanese mariner 8hp details

I am having difficulty finding

I am having difficulty finding data - year and therefore manual etc for my motor. Model number is 647 and serial number is S 13 .... (can't remember the rest but its six digits I think (motor was probably sold here in australia). It has a "made in japan for merc/mariner usa" (or similar) on it.
I'd like to know the year so I can find fuel mix /plug data and carby/ignition info etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Shaun - I think its an 8A the cowl pictures give it away - it has that distinctive grill look to it. I'll post further when I've had a good look at the serial number etc.
