How to check that water pump is working

"we have a evinrude model 559723 seriel no. JO1342. 55HP selectric what age, do you know ? how do you check water pump is working. would like to order manuel but dont know what age motor is.seems to run ok but hasent been started for 2years until now. do we need to be aware of anything in particular.this is the first boat we have owned but willing to learn more thanks mikko"

Those units are very good. Mot

Those units are very good. Motor must be running in order to shift. Apply 12 volts to green for nuetral and green and blue together are reverse. No power reguired for forward.
