I have a 2000 Evenrude 225hp F

I have a 2000 Evenrude 225hp Fict and have been told the EMM needs to be replace because the power up coil for starter system is bad. I'm assuming this is a transformer in the EMM. Can I have this replaced or rebuilt without having to buy a new EMM or a rebuilt EMM. Does anyone know what specific part needs replacing.
