I'm considering installing a Beta 50 hp engine in a Tayana-37 sailboat. Anyone done it? Any advice is welcome. It is replacing an MD3B volvo diesel.

I am thinking of purchasing a sailboat with a Renault diesel engine. I am curious as to parts availability. Where can parts be bought from?
Are they reliable engines( I can only hope that they are better than there automotive counterparts). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The engine is a vertical 18HP Twin of unknown age,but is fitted with spin on filters and Bosch electrics.Is there an equivalent engine in the Puegeot Range? "
