79 seahorse 100hp v4 what lowerends will interchange with this powerhead. Also does the motor have to be running to change gears;.

"many lu will fit---unless u have severe damage to the LU hsng,...it is usually best to repair/rebuild YOUR unit,..instead of taking a chance on another used one...the unit (gears,) need to be turning for the clutch dog to engage the gears right...either by turning the flywheel,spinning the prop shaft,or having eng running."
