"I have a 1987 3.0 L Stingray.

"I have a 1987 3.0 L Stingray. Boat much neglected. Changed oil, oil filter, cleaned fuel filter area of crystalized gas, replaced filter, replaced plugs. She will run a second and then stop. What next?"

Does it stop as you let the key go from start to run? If so could be a bad resistor wire circuit not feeding the coil with any power.

You're loosing either the Fuel or the Fire,......

You've got to See which it Is,............

Pull a Plug Wire when it Quits,+ See if it's firing.......

If it's Not,.... Work your way back thru the Igntion System til you find the Power......

If it Is,...... Move on to the Carb,+ the rest of the Fuel System........."
