"I'm trying to save a few bucks and am going to change spark plugs and fuel filters myself. Is there more than the 1 visable fuel filter I should change and are there any other tune up adjustments I should make? Additionally, how much trouble is it to change the impeller?"

"Eric, I believe there is another filter in the vapour separator (Just In Time will know for sure).

Changing an impeller is not a difficult process, although on that size of engine the lower unit weighs a bit and you will probably need a hand.

Your best course of action is to first pick up a manual - it's best never to go near an outboard with a screw driver or a wrench without one.

Yes, a factory manual may cost 60 or 70 bucks, but that is less than most marina's charge per hour...."

This LIT is for the owners manual. The previous post was for the service manual. I have all the manuals that came with the boat and motor but I don't recall a manual with service intervals. I'll double check though.
