"if your eng. isn't proped right , lugging the eng. (not acheaving recomended RPM) at wide open can cause fuel blowby into the crankcase"

"Aloha from Hawaii. I am havi

"Aloha from Hawaii. I am having the exact same problem with my twin DF70 outboards. One is a 1999 model with 800 hrs, and the other is a 2001 with 700 hrs. Both motors start up and run flawlessly. Props are sized right. I troll at about 7 to 8 knots, but often go faster or slower. Sometimes, I stay at idle or very slow speeds for extended periods (baiting for fish, or swim escorts, etc.)

My mechanic friend suggested replacing my diaphrams on my low pressure fuel pumps. I did that, as well as the the "O" rings, but problem persists. He then said that if the needle valve and/or seat is worn, it may cause the high pressure fuel pump to lose pressure, causing gas to run when the motors are shut off. He suggested rigging up a pressure gauge to check the pressure to verify if this is the problem. This is a little too much for me. Does anywone know of others ways to find the problem, other than opening up my wallet at the local dealer.

Thanks.

Claude Moreau"
