"Fred, will need a few more details. Is the motor a Scott-Atwater? Can you see a model number anywhere?"

"Fred, your motor is a 1962, 7.5 horse, twin cylinder built by McCulloch and sold by Sears under their Elgin (Ted Willams) brand name.

McCulloch, also notable for their other small engines (particularly lawn/garden - chainsaws etc) later sold out to MTD. Some but not all of their patents went with the sale.

Andrew who runs this site has some ignition parts to fit your motor. Other parts may still be available at a small engine retailer, others may be more difficult to find, depending on what you may have to look for.

For a repair manual you could try www.discount-marine-parts.com they may be able to help you out."
