"Roberto, if the motor is mounted on the boat and controlled by a single lever shifter (puts it in gear and controlls the throttle), you should be able to do what you want from the shifter.

Most shifters allow you to advance the throttle without putting it in gear. Some have a button that you press in to disengage the gear cable.

If you have a US Marine shifter (original to most Bayliner/Force combinations), the shift arm is spring loaded - you simply pull it (straight out) from shift box itself (toward you if you are sitting in the seat), and then move the arm in the normal manner. Just grip it at the base of the shift arm (where it connects to shift assembly) and pull.

My discription may be a little confusing, but if your shifter operates like that, give it a try (without the motor running) and you will see what I mean."
