"Hi All,can anyone give me a link to an exploded veiw of the thermostat houseing to expansion tank and onto engine.I need to replace thermostat as it keeps sticking is their a gasket on both sides of the houseing ie onto engine and onto header tank or is it just 2 O rings.

O ring on exchanger and special rubber seal at thermostat. Volvo's web site will show part #'s.

"If the thermostat gasket is like mine on my AQ131, it has a slit cut in it. This slit goes over the edge of the thermostat so the gasket seals both sides. The thermostat only uses one gasket. The other O ring is for the heat exchanger end.

"The thermostat sealing rings

"The thermostat sealing rings appear to be the same for both engines. Volvo uses a thin O ring at the exchanger and this ring is much smaller than the groove. I have started using a thicker O ring ( US designation-225) at the exchanger due to leaks. The leaks, if they occur, will be noticeable in cold weather which causes the rubber to stiffen."
