"While running wot I heard a click-click-click in the engine and instantly cut it back. the boat continued to run and I bought her back up to speed but instead of 4400 rmps, she only putout 4000rpms. I fear dead cylinder. What do you think? No smoke, no increased temp, oil pressure good."

Is it running on 3, or 4 cylinders.....

A Compression Test might reveal something......."
 
"A 4 cylinder motor running on

"A 4 cylinder motor running on 3 cylinders makes only 2 cylinder power. So, no, it was on all 4. One of them may have been under-performing, however. Try a plug check first and, if they all look alike, a compression test.
