"Hey guys, need to run through the timing/sync. procedure and I'm "almost" certain I have the fast start ignition. how do i disconnect that so I can set things up in the back yard?

Ok, yes I messed with the timing in almost every way you can only to discover I tried to set the timing with a stripped alignment pin in the flywheel so it needs to be reset from the start with no assumptions as to WOT settings and such.

Its a 1989 200hp johnson.

If you have fast start, you are supposed to run the engine until it reaches operating temperature before making adjustments. I guess you could turn it off by disconnecting the power pack from the temperature switch and grounding the power pack lead.
