440 intake manifold

i'm guessing someone chang

i'm guessing someone changed the intake manifold at some point in my boats life....its a clockwise spining motor but the intake has the counter clockwise firing order stamped on it......did chrysler make 2 diff. manifolds or are you just supposed to ignore the stamping sometimes?
 
They used the same manifold.

They used the same manifold. You simply read the numbers backwards (or go counterclockwise around the distributor) when setting it up.

well that was a 2 day lesson this weekend after trying to start the engine and double and triple checking the firing order.....only to find out that my boat is a clockwise motor. once the wires were put on right she fired right up.

"Been there, done that! Just last week a guy at my marina dropped in a new SB Chevy he had ordered, that was supposed to be a reverse rotator. Had it all bolted up and tried to start it. Guess what? Boy, was he pissed!
