TAMD 31P Engine noisy clattery

"The engine gets noisy/ clatte

"The engine gets noisy/ clattery above approx 3,000rpm, and gets louder to WOT at 4,000rmp.
When engine is taken out of gear and run the engine sounds fine up to WOT - 4000 rpm.
The engine smokes slightly but I would no think excessivly, it has done only 200 hrs.
Any ideas ??"

"Checked the drive plate, found to be OK.

The noise seems to be coming from the injection pump. I also noticed that there is some unburned fuel coming from the exhaust at idle.

Any help would be much appreciated"
