"BF45, went fishing today and after 5 hrs of on and off engine usage on the way back to the dock with the engine running for about 30 min. at 5500 rpm the overheat light and buzzer came on. Also some white smoke comming out of exhaust. Shut it down, after a few minutes restarted, light still on and white smoke again.
Water WAS comming out of the cooling indicator, so it seems like the water pump was ok.
30 min. later at the dock restarted and no smoke but light on and water still comming out of cool. ind.
One hour later at home with flush hose on, started fine, no smoke and light was }OFF!
Any ideas? I undertand a water pump malfunction or a plug in the water intake( now that I think about it the river was unusually full of weeds and crap)but what about the white smoke??
