"I have just recently purchesed an 87' invader with a AQ131A volvo & 275 outdrive, i'm really needing to know if the parts from an 86' 270 outdrive will be compatible, the gear set in the 270 is set up for a 4 cyl as well. is there any difference? the drives look exactly the same in pictures. The reason for all this is of course from my stupidity, i took the boat out on it's maiden voyage with me anyway, & hit a rock bad, trashed the prop, & bent the lower end drive shaft. retail prices on that part is almost 800 & i can get an entire outdrive on ebay far cheaper. thanks for any help"

I have a 280 drive that I like

I have a 280 drive that I like to swap out with my 275 drive that is on the boat now what is involved in swaping these units out both drives are for 8 cyl volvos.The 275 needs the belows replaced .
