"While looking a replacement exhaust risers for my twin Mercruiser 5.7L Alpha One, I have found that there are basically two types available:
1. ceramic coated
2. um... not ceramic coated
It seems like the price for these are basically the same. I assume that the current ones on the engine are not ceramic coated since the paint has burned off and they are rusted.
Is there any benefit or drawback to using one or the other?
I also notice that the Mercruiser brand replacement part is either port or starboard while the replacement parts seem to work on either side of the engine."
