"NOTICED A SMALL OIL LEAK AROUND OIL FILTER; THOUGHT IT MAYBE WAS THE OIL FILTER GASKET; HOWEVER I THINK IT IS FROM THE FILTER HOUSING; LEAKS WHEN JUST STARTING ENGINE, BUT WILL STOP WHEN ENGINE IS WARM;HAD NEW BLOCKS LAST YEAR AND NEW OIL PAN GASKET; ANY IDEAS???"
 
By the book you are suppossed

By the book you are suppossed to run engine and check for leaks after changing the filter. About one in a thousand new ones has a flaw bad enough to cause a leak. I've only seen it happen once in my life. I would have missed it except that there was something else I was checking out and then noticed it. Change the filter and bring the oil up to the proper level or do a complete oil change first and see if that is it.
