"Evinrude 9.9. No water initially from water pump indicator. When I force water into this tube and back flow it, it starts to work. When I put it in gear, it stops or sputters out."

"The impellers on the 9.9/15 have a max of 2 years life-time. They either suffer from hardening wings (loose pressure) or the center gets loose. Go for Sierra due to price, the 'original' are no better.
By a couple, and keep the spare in a BLACK zip-bag! I spare thermostat and gasket is to recommend at the same time."

Thanks to both for the input. I was able to find the parts today and the work is in progress. I will keep ya'll posted.
