No Serial number or model number on id tag

I have a 50hp Johnson that doe

I have a 50hp Johnson that does not have the serial number or model number on the tag. I have been told that the number on the freeze plug is the serial number. Is this true. My motor has the number C7112702. What does this tell me? Thanks.

"Hello. I am new to this site. I also am having troubles finding model # and serial #, on my Johnson 90 hp. I found these numbers, but not sure if any are what I need, for insurance policy.
Numbers found are:
78511044mm, 310532d2, 175110, brg323352.
Any help would be very much appreciated."
