"Hi all Here is the problem

"Hi all Here is the problem I have a 1977 351 ford OMC stringer drive, I had to replace the flywheel so I pulled the engine. After replacing and running I noticed steam from both the pvc valve and oil filler cap when running in the water. Is it possable that the exhaust risers gaskets might be leaking and getting water in the engine? I had to remove the elbows for engine removal. Thanks for your help."

"Peter, Before you put them back its a good idea to check them for rust. If you look in the water ways and you see the cast starting to Laminate its a good time to change them. Hopefully it is just the Gasket though. Good luck."

"Peter : if it turns out to be the exhaust risers, dont pay full price, shop around (Ebay maybe ?)they go for about 350 for both, it worked fine for me,
