Should I install a points to electronic ignition kit

I am thinking of changing fro

I am thinking of changing from conventional points to electronic ignition by installing a kit. Sierra and Pertronix make kits. ANY ADVICE PLEASE!!! Are either of these makers notoriously better/worse? Is the whole idea of changin my inboard/outboard Volvo 225 into electronic advisable?

" I am also considering this. My reaserch show that it shold be a pretty resonable swap. No more adjusting or changing points. Marine engines are years behind, and autos have been using electric ignition for over 20 years.

From an engineering stand point, you should have more spark because it would be a very accurate spark control. More spark at the perfect time means more power. Whereas with points, if they are not perfectly adjusted they can "float" and cause serious power loss problems. "
