Help oil leak in outdrive

I have a mercruiser gen 1 alp

I have a mercruiser gen 1 alpha 1 leaking oil out the gear case water drain hole. (weep hole) Any ideas on what is causeing this. Thanks.

" Kevin, I changed the shift shaft seal and the water pump base and seal. No more leak. Easy job, just split lower unit form upper and the seals are right there on top of lower unit. The shop wanted $200.-$300. I did it myself for $40. "
