Need help please 'the mot

Need help please 'the motor will go into reverse
but when put into forward it will not engage the
prop any suggestion's? Thank's

" I have a 73, i beleive, johnson outbord model number 50esl73r,50hp, and just the other day got it started for the first time in 6 years.
Anyways i wonder if anyone could tell me on the correct spark plug gapping? also what make of carbs it has?
Also i noticed that fuel was dripping out of the top carb when started. Could someone please inform me on how to tune the carbs or point me in the right direction for a website that may do a detailed walkthrough or this process.
