BF45A Propeller choices

"Hi, right now I have a 11 1/4 x 13 that works fine for all around purpose and 2 people.
But I do have trouble breaking the plane with 4 people onboard. The boat is an Arima Sea Explorer 16'.
Would a 12x10 1/2 give her the extra kick needed?
My thought is that the combo of extra diameter and lower pitch would keep the RPM's within specified in the owners manual (5000-6000)"

"Sergio, a reduction of 2 1/2" of pitch would normally give you an increase of about 500 rpms - but because the diameter is a little bigger, I would suspect 350-400 would be the increase with this prop.

I ran some "phantom" numbers through my prop calculator and that 12X10 1/2 should allow you to push along an extra 500-600 with the motor working the way it would with your current prop and 2 persons on board. Of course, you lose a few mph off your top end.

So for all my babling above - yes, that looks to be a good choice for a prop... "
