I have a 29 Phoenix convertabl

I have a 29 Phoenix convertable that weights about 8500lbs with twin 270's. What should I go top speed at? would anyone know? also what is the max RPM that I can cruise at without opeining up the secondaires on the Carb?

Reading up on some of these forums. Would I be wise to change to Holly's or edleman carbs next season. Would I gain any speed or effeciency?

"Marine carbs cost money that could be used to buy a lot of fuel! If the present carbs run okay, why change them? Newer carbs, like Holley or Edelbrock, won't do more than your present carbs IF they are set up right.
