No oil pressure reading

"2003 4.3L, when she's running the guage pins backward. Bad sending unit or gauge. Any way to meter the sending unit?"

Is this a new problem or is it a something you have known of for a while.
Sounds like your gauge is toast, or the wires to it are crossed, have you done any electrical work on the boat lately.
Dissconnect the oil sender and start your engine and see what the gauge does.

The first thing you should do is install a manual direct reading gauge into the fitting where the sender is (down by the oil filter) and make sure you do really have oil pressure!!
If the pressure is OK, likely your sender is shot.

"If the gauge does not move while the engine is running, ground the sender wires and the gauge should show maximum oil pressure. If it does, the gauge is OK and the sender is suspect."

I have not done any work on the boat. I have pressure at the motor.
as soon as you turn on the key the gauge pins.
I will try grounding out the line at the sening unit.

Let you know what I get.

"If it pins than unplug the sender at the motor. If it drops, replace the sender.
If it doesn't unlug the blue wire from the gauge. If it drops the blue wire shorted to ground. If it doesn't check the polarity on the gauge. Purple (+) black (-) lt. blue (sender.) If not replace the gauge."
