    Is it normal to start an Evinrude 9.5 in drive?

    I have a mid 60's Sport twin, and noticed having the throttle in the start position, the gear selector needs to be in drive. Just wondering if this is correct? Thanks.

    It is a direct drive, where and how do I get to the water pump? I have the power unit off, that's about it. Does anyone know much about this one? Thanks.
