    how to diiagnosis intermittent spark?

    mercury 1987 20 h.p. 2 cyl. won't start. Only had spark in 1 plug, so replaced other coil. It seems now that I only get the occasional spark from plugs. I have a OHM meter but am unsure of the tests I can do with it and the exceptable readings. I do have an owners manual for my motor but can't...

    1987 2 cylinder 20 h.p. mercury

    Had problems with motor last season running rough and only running on 1 cylinder, so cleaned and put a carb kit in it over the winter and replaced one of the coils due to no spark. First pull this season it started up for just a second then died. Checked plugs got spark from both but wont start...

    can't figure out how to hook up trottle and gear cables in the control assembly box. Have manual but the pictures are bad. Looking for diagram or video.
