    Tilt Trim question 85 riviera cruiser w/ evinrude 48 spl

    The tilt/ trim stops working every now and then. After a couple taps on the solenoid, it works again. What do I need to know to find a new solenoid for this? Would I be able to buy a brand new one? Or, would I have to replace the whole tilt motor?

    1972 Evinrude Sportwin 9.5hp stalls at high RPMs when in gear, but not in neutral.

    Motor will run fine in neutral both at high and low RPMs. Also, it will run in gear at low RPMs. Whenever I increase the throttle, it sputters and dies unless I lower the throttle. I just had an outboard mechanic replace the plugs, points, head gasket, etc... Compression and spark are within...

    1972 Evinrude Sportwin 9.5hp 9222m won't start.

    I just bought a motor. It won't start. I've got fuel going all the way to the carburetor. But, apparently not beyond. I figure there must be an issue with the carburetor.
