    Shift delay from forward to neutral on 2006 F200

    I have an issue when I shift the boat from forward to neutral. The shift is delayed from going into neutral which can be a little scary coming in to dock. Some times it can take up to seven seconds to shift once I put the boat into neutral. any ideas where to start looking?
