    Operating temps Merc 74

    My 10 year old 7.4L has 450 ho My 10 year old 7.4L has 450 hours on it. Temp always reads 175. Owners manual says 160 thermostat. Engine has aftermarket freshwater cooling. Is 175 deg acceptable? Maybe heat exchanger needs a flush? Boat moored in saltwater. Thanks
