    '65 Mercury 55HP Outboard with Oil Seeping

    Need advise on why gear oil would be seeping out of the water outtake vents. My 16 yr old son drained the lower unit and attempted to replace the gear oil by putting oil into the filler hole. It gushed out of the water out take vents which seemed like a bad thing. If anyone can give us guidance...
