    Not sure even +on how to start trying to explain this one... I have a Evinrude VRO 50hp 1988 model. I have disconnected the VRO and now premixing my fuel... One of the problem is the motor will not idle too well it will idle but will die after a very short time. plus when i shift it intoo gear...

    Great News!!!!!!!!!!!

    Got my 1988 50hp Evinrude VRO to idle and stay running....... BUT!!!! Now that i have unhooked the VRO and mixing the fuel myself the warning horn is going off!!!!!!!!! How should i handle this....And thanks to all what help walk me through my troubles.

    88 vro 50hp evinrude will not

    It will start very easely and run as long as i keep pushing the bypass primer on the key. It will die if i don't keep pushing the key... Any help????

    1988 Evinrude VRO.

    Have a 1988 Evinrude 50 hp VRO. It was sittitng up for a while when i got it. Took carbs off and clean them very good. it will start and run as long i keep pushing the key in (can't remember what that is called right now) but it will not stay running. One more thing im not sure if the VRO is...

    1988 50hp Evinrude won't start

    Just got the boat the other day and have no idea how long it has been setting up. It is a 50 horse 1988 Evinrude VRO oil injected. It will turn over and i know i am not suppose to but yes i did spray starting fluid in it twice. It ran both times that way. I can see the new fuel in the filter but...

    old boater new boat!!!!!

    Going to go ahead and try to get the dumb questions out of the way first...... I have an evinrude vro 50hp. unsure of the year model. How would i find that out? Next it is oil injected .....So does that mean i don't have to mix the gas? Not really that dumb just want to be double sure.....Thanks
