    Shop said break in of new Yamaha F50 was not necessary

    I took their word for it and exceeded 2000 rpm the first hour, but just for 10 to 15 seconds at a time a few times and not more than 4000 rpm. aprx. Could I have damaged the motor? Talked to Yamaha about it and the mechanic said it was ok, but would like to hear your opinion. Got max 5500...
