    1973 850 Seal replacement question

    Removed the flywheel (yes used the correct tool and flywheel holder) to replace the stator and found the crank seal weeping oil. My question is, Can the bearing cap be removed without splitting the case? The books I have only show the front bearing cap removed after the block has been split.
