    96 Yamaha 50hp 4 stroke midrange miss

    I just recently bought my boat I just recently bought my boat and the motor idles smooth and high power runs great but the midrange is missing and sputtering. Should I try a fuel additive for possible carb problems or a timing light for ignition problems? Any help would be appreciated.
