    Merc 496 voltage dropping with higer rpmbs

    "Hello Forum, I've got a "Hello Forum, I've got a 2003 496 MAG with a strange problem. I read 13.4v at an idle, 14v at about 2500rpm but down to 12.9v at 3000 and up. The more rpm she makes the less 'reported' voltage at my helm. Does anyone have a suggustion to this odd happening?"

    496 MAG poping at mid RPM

    I've an 89 Slickcraft 279 I've an 89 Slickcraft 279 with a 2003 496MAG (200 hours) that has started 'popping' at 3000~3500rpm. Could this be the shutters rattling or water in the fuel? I've changed the fuel filter and still it pops/backfires(?) at that rpm range. What are the thoughts out...
