KM-2A Transmission Slip, SAE 10 Oil

The KM-2A transmission on my 2GM slips when first engaged (forward), then comes in with a clunk. I know this probably means glazing on the cone, but have heard of of someone fixing the problem in the short term by using a low-viscosity oil (SAE 10 I think). Anyone else done this? ps: I know...

    Water Temperature Sender

I managed to break the top of the seawater temperature sender on my 2GM. Does anyone know of the generic replacement for this? If I have to, I'll pay Yanmar prices, but like many of these things, Yanmar just rebrand someone else's product and slap on a silly price. lockie

    2GM Raw Water Pump

Poor old water pump is on it's last legs - dripping like crazy, who knows how old. I've found a Johnson pump that looks suspiciously similar, for about 1/2 the price of the Yanmar branded unit. "The clutch started taking up "The clutch started taking up only intermittently when I selected forward. I replaced the cable - no luck. Then I adjusted the throw so it pushed the transmission lever much further than the 35mm specified, which fixed it, but in neutral the transmission lever is...

2GM wonbt rev out amp smokes

"My 12HP 2GM has about 1200 ho "My 12HP 2GM has about 1200 hours up, and revs nicely to about 1800rpm. But any more throttle beyond that just leads to black smoke and no increase in revs. I think it should rev out to somewhere around 3000 (the manual says max is 3400). I've only just bought the...
